Job summary

Marsh in Canada is seeking a seasoned casualty placement professional to join our national Casualty Placement team. The role supports high-profile, complex client portfolios across Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal, with a hybrid schedule requiring three days in the office weekly.

You will lead placement strategy, work closely with carriers and underwriters, and mentor teammates in delivering high-end brokerage services while staying ahead of market changes.

Qualifications

• Casualty risk management experience with strong technical knowledge.
• 10+ years of insurance experience on broker or insurer side.
• Broker Licenses required, Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods for go-to-market strategy and pricing to support retention and new business.
• Guide relationships with carriers and underwriters to address client needs.
• Audit and finalize commission structures with underwriters.
• Understand changing insurance market conditions and inform client teams.

Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Casualty Placement team at Marsh. This role will be based in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary or Montreal. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

• Manage a book of high profile, highly complex, insurance and risk management portfolios.

We will count on you to:

• Develop methods for the go-to-market strategy and provide input on pricing of services supporting client retention and new business production.
• Guide strong working relations with carriers and/or underwriters to create innovative approaches to unique client needs and provide cohesive client service.
• Audit and finalize commission structure with underwriter in accordance with client direction and agreement.
• Achieve a thorough understanding of changing insurance and risk market conditions and inform client teams, clients and carriers of major developments affecting various types of coverage.
• Apply advanced knowledge to the firm's product lines by active participation in internal networks.
• Devise new products and innovative solutions that address complex client needs.
• Lead complex placement/technical support activities on big accounts to ensure contract execution as required.

What you need to have:

• Casualty Risk Management experience, an understanding of Casualty Risk concepts and strong technical knowledge
• 10+ years insurance experience on the Broker or Insurer side
• Broker Licenses Required (Level 2 - Preferred)
