Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
  • Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor adherence, and report changes.
  • Companionship and Emotional Support: Engage clients in meaningful conversations and foster a supportive environment.
  • Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning, laundry, and maintain an organized environment.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers: Ensure safety using proper techniques and experience with overhead lifts.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate care records and report significant observations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with clients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
  • Compliance: Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and policies regarding care, privacy, and safety.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Valid BC Care-Aide Registry Number and/or BC HCA Certificate
  • Completed COVID-19 vaccination record
  • TB clearance certificate
  • Two personal and two professional references
  • Consent to criminal background and motor vehicle record checks
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred)
  • Smartphone for scheduling and reporting
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
