Senior Capital Markets Business Analyst with Payments experience to support a SWE decommission project with one of our major banking clients- 37768

Location Address: Toronto/Hybrid (currently 2-3 days on site)

Contract Duration: 12 months to start (Chance of Extension)

Story Behind the Need

Project: SWE Decommission:

  • SWE is a derivatives settlement system. Key drivers are regulatory, system currency and business strategy. SWE native capabilities no longer meet bank standards and business growth resulting in the build out of an existing technology stack (GDMS) to mimic capabilities & become ISO compliant

Project Scope:

Build a generic settlements tool in GDMS to facilitate settlements for multiple front-end systems. Leverage GDMS ISO build and de-com SWE before November 2026 to be ISO complaint. Enhance derivative settlements workflow for current SWE users. Create opportunity for other settlement teams to leverage GDMS as a back-office module and cash settlement tool.

Typical Day in Role

• Lead the analysis and documentation of business requirements for the payment modernization project.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure successful project delivery.

• Facilitate communication between technical teams and business units to ensure seamless integration and implementation of the new payments platform.

• Conduct gap analysis and propose solutions to bridge identified gaps.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide training to end-users.

Must Have Skills:

• 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst

• 5 years Cap Markets Experience

• Knowledge of payment systems, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience with JIRA, Visio, PPT, SOP creation, management control implementation

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• ISO Knowledge is an asset

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.

Best vs Average: The best candidate would be an experienced BA with knowledge of Payments Operations and products. Exposure to Capital Markets is required and ISO experience would be considered an asset. This individual would need to have effectively manage deliverables, lead discussions in the absence of BAU stakeholders & take back decisions for BAU leads to opine on.

o First round: MS Teams Interview with HM and other group manager(s)

o Potential second round with same group
