Nöord Technologies in Montreal is recruiting an experienced Senior C# .NET Backend Developer to own server-side architecture for mission-critical financial applications. Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of backend software engineering experience with C# / .NET Core.
• Deep expertise in concurrent programming, multithreading, memory management.
• Production experience with event-driven and distributed systems (Kafka, Kubernetes, AWS).
• Strong Software Craftsmanship mindset (SOLID, clean architecture, unit/integration testing, BDD).
• Fluent English is mandatory; French is a plus.

• Architect, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency C# .NET Core backend services and distributed components.
• Enhance and scale real-time computation engines used for market risk tracking and interest rate curve generation.
• Collaborate with international cross-functional teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

For the needs of one of our prestigious clients, a major banking actor in Montreal currently experiencing strong growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Senior C# .NET Backend Developer.

About the Role

As part of a high-performing Capital Markets technology team , you will take full ownership of the server-side architecture and core services powering mission-critical financial applications . You will work on robust, data-centric systems used in real time by global trading desks to compute risk exposure and process complex interest rate curve models .

This is a pure backend engineering role. We are seeking a hardcore C# / .NET engineer who thrives on low-latency processing, distributed architectures, clean engineering practices, and high-throughput data pipelines .

Important Note: Profiles focused primarily on ASP.NET Web/Frontend fullstack development will not be considered. This role demands deep backend and systems-level expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with international cross-functional teams (Product, QA, Architecture, Global Trading Desks) across North America, Europe, and Asia .
• Provide tier-3 backend technical expertise and support for North American trading operations during active market hours .
• Enforce rigorous engineering standards: clean code, SOLID principles, comprehensive test coverage (TDD/BDD), and event-driven architectures .
• Continuously improve and automate CI/CD delivery pipelines, telemetry, and distributed messaging infrastructures .

Requirements

Candidate Profile & Technical Requirements

Experience: Minimum 8+ years of dedicated backend software engineering experience with C# / .NET Core.

Backend Mastery: Deep expertise in concurrent programming, multithreading, memory management, microservices, and high-performance server architectures.

Technical Ecosystem: Proven production experience with event-driven and distributed systems using technologies such as Kafka, SignalR, APIs, Kubernetes, AWS, ELK, and Git.

Craftsmanship: Strong Software Craftsmanship mindset (SOLID principles, clean architecture, unit/integration testing, BDD).

Domain Knowledge: Prior experience in Capital Markets, investment banking, or financial derivatives (Fixed Income, Rates, FX, Risk systems) is strongly preferred.

Languages: Fluent English is mandatory (daily collaboration with international teams ); French is a valuable asset / nice to have.

Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid model).

Contract Duration: 12-month contract (renewable, with potential conversion to a permanent role).

Start Date: ASAP .

Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (valid Canadian work permit, permanent residency, or citizenship).

Relocation: A comprehensive relocation package is available for eligible candidates moving to Montreal.
