Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking a C# Senior Developer for the OTT platform team, combining on-site and remote work. You will advance front-end/Back-end integration for CBC Gem and ICI TOU.TV, shaping the next generation of digital broadcasting while working in a bilingual environment.

The role requires 3+ years in software development, proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, WebAPI and strong REST skills, plus collaboration with product owners and architects in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core and WebAPI.
• Excellent grasp of REST API principles.
• Knowledge of Git.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, Entity Framework.
• Knowledge of Redis is an asset.
• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript is an asset.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Lake is an asset.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud is an asset.
• Knowledge of audio-video broadcasting on the web (streaming) is an asset.
• Knowledge of other programming languages is an asset.
• Knowledge of design patterns is an asset.
• Bilingualism (English and French) spoken and written is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify reusable components for Radio-Canada's digital platforms; such as the audio/video player.
• Ensure compliance with standards and control the quality of the product throughout the project's execution.
• Stay informed of new trends in the various fields of digital development.
• By being proactive, propose solutions to the challenges encountered.
• Participate in Agile Scrum activities designed to review ongoing production projects to make necessary corrections and adjustments, or completed projects to measure their results.
• Participate in the development of user stories for our various products.
• Ensure the good performance of developed applications to handle high loads.
• Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and application deployments.
• Participate in code reviews and solution deployments.
