Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Senior Buyer/Planner is a critical role responsible for executing strategic purchasing and inventory plans for Promotional and/or Core finished good products and components to ensure unit fill rate, inventory, and cost objectives are met. The Senior Buyer/Planner will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product Development, to align purchasing and inventory strategies with overall business objectives. The role requires deep knowledge of Milani’s ERP planning systems, SOPs, and other tools to ensure proper planning, pricing, work ticket, and PO maintenance, as well as accurate system visibility and inventory accuracy. A solid understanding of the cosmetics industry, market trends, and supply chain management is essential.

This role may also involve managing specific areas such as global launches, promotional programs, logistics, or other operations-related tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge of core systems (Sage, Netstock, MPS, MRP, Monday.com, etc.) and ensure compliance with planning SOPs to maintain accurate FG and component supply, demand, and inventories.
  • Issue, maintain, and track POs (within Sage & Monday.com) to third-party manufacturers according to approved MPS.
  • Support unit fill rate and inventory goals.
  • Plan finished goods and components in Sage and Netstock for assigned categories and vendors.
  • Maintain PO and Work Order delivery dates in Sage.
  • Follow Milani change management SOPs for system and inventory accuracy.
  • Adhere to weekly/monthly planning cycles.
  • Issue warehouse transfers between DC and third-party manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with third-party manufacturers to meet supply needs and address delivery issues.
  • Understand and apply Milani’s Quality, Vendor, and Warehouse SOPs for cost-effective supply management.
  • Coordinate logistics and recommend shipment methods.
  • Lead meetings with internal departments and third-party manufacturers to track project status and resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Visit manufacturers or suppliers as needed for launches or programs.
  • Support launch execution tracking for new products.
  • Manage retail promotion processes and reporting.
  • Oversee global logistics processes and reporting.
  • Manage marketing sampling programs.
  • Support the execution of new product launches and marketing initiatives globally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • APICS certification.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in planning/purchasing or marketing operations.
  • Experience in cosmetics, personal care, or consumer products.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong supply chain background (MPS, MRP, database management).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Sage or similar), forecasting tools (Netstock), and MS Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • High integrity and work ethic.

Compensation:

The annual salary range is $75,000 - $90,000, depending on experience, education, and location.
