Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled procurement professional to support our Data Center Solutions/Silent-Aire operations in Canada. You will manage tactical purchasing, maintain inventory levels, and build strong supplier relationships to secure the best prices and terms while aligning with purchasing procedures.

The role requires a 2-year degree, 5+ years in industrial purchasing, Excel proficiency, and willingness to travel up to 10% in a manufacturing-oriented office environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related purchasing experience in industrial or manufacturing settings.
• Experience with sheet metal, fabrication and purchasing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with vendors.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Office environment with manufacturing setting requiring PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provide tactical procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment and services for the organization.
• Maintain inventory levels and secure favorable pricing while building strategic supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with supervisors and departments to ensure purchasing aligns with needs and procedures.
• Analyze requisitions, prepare bids, create supporting spreadsheets, and compare products/prices.
• Assist with supplier qualification, vendor files, and price list maintenance.
