Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager – Aria Filtra, the Senior Buyer is responsible for the P2P process for key category commodities, focusing on project schedules, budget control, and material margin enhancements. The role involves developing sourcing strategies, negotiating procurement, managing suppliers, and supporting QA processes, requiring flexibility, organization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

This position is part of the Supply Chain Department located in London and Guelph, ON and will be hybrid in London or Guelph, ON.

This role will require travel for up to 10%.

In this role, a typical day will look like :

  • Strategically owning the commodity management process for the assigned categories, from upfront sales support, through the Procure to Pay (P2P) Process including but not limited to : RFQs, order placement, order managements and reconciliation of; shipments, invoicing, warranty claims, etc.
  • Leading P2P process for commodities such as valves, rotating equipment, built to print items, etc.
  • Reviewing Requisitions and Engineering releases for completeness to ensure items and services quoted are a match, specifications are met, and scope of work is entirely captured.
  • Ensuring the most accurate material costs are updated and communicated across the business.
  • Managing suppliers to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Sourcing, qualifying, developing, and approving suppliers using an established supplier qualification process.
  • Supporting our QA processes; discussing warranty issue and / or unacceptable goods or services with quality assurance personnel and our suppliers to determine : root cause, preventative measures and taking corrective action.
  • Accurately maintaining Project Procurement Plans / Project Materials Budgets.
  • Leading and providing support to the team in defining and executing strategic goals to drive continual cost reduction.
  • Responsible for developing and negotiating master supplier agreements.

The essential requirements of the job include :

  • Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management
  • 5 to 10 years of Procurement / Category Experience
  • MRP / ERP materials planning system experience i.e. : SAP / LN
  • Knowledge of Project Life Cycle
  • Strong user experience with Microsoft Office applications; especially Excel, Word, MS Project, and Reporting
  • Ability to travel internationally for business needs well as inner office travel (London, Guelph and Cortland, NY)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in :

  • Prefer CSCMP and / or ISM certification or commitment to pursue on a yearly basis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both independently and in a group setting
