Job Title : Senior Buyer
Reporting to the Project and Engineering Director or their designate, the Senior Buyer will contribute to all aspects of Skeena’s procurement processes ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required the company’s projects. This role will collaborate closely with the organization’s engineering and on-site teams as well as external vendors.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to) :
Procurement Strategy & Process Development
Develop and implement purchasing procedures with the existing procurement team and other departments.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, addressing issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Identify, analyze, and select suppliers for project materials and services.
Evaluate quotes from vendors, suppliers, and contractors and negotiate fair terms and rates for the company.
Create a qualified vendor register and ensure all correspondences with vendors are recorded in an organized manner.
Create and present RFI, RFP, and RFQ packages to vendors, suppliers, and contractors; invite tenders, evaluate, and verify best options.
Purchasing & Procurement Operations
Assist project and operations managers in the purchasing and negotiation of equipment, materials, products, and services.
Purchase materials and supplies at competitive prices, considering quality, suitability, time restraints, and requirements.
Execute and demonstrate a strong understanding of site usage and demand levels.
Use supplier pricing files and internal communication systems to ensure pricing is accurate.
Compliance & Documentation
Review and analyze all procurement and inventory-related documents for accuracy and completion.
Acquire the materials and services required for the project in a timely manner; create and enter purchase orders into ERP, evaluate and correct vendor performance.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
Develop a professional and ethical relationship with business clients, both internal and external.
Demonstrate social awareness, commitment, and compliance with Skeena Resources' opportunity-sharing agreements, always showing socially responsible behavior with the community and the company.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$90,000 - CA$140,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and / or experience.
