Business Analyst Role Overview :

You are a detail-oriented business analyst looking to make a difference in the healthcare IT space. You enjoy problem solving and working with others to bring clarity to challenging situations. You are versed in both technology and business processes and can bridge the gap between the two. You enjoy working with different teams and multiple stakeholders, and would enjoy the opportunity to work on multiple programs at TELUS Health.

What YOU Get to Do :

Work with internal development teams, clients, and partners to define business requirements and develop statements of work for new capabilities in TELUS Health IT solutions. Support the execution of these statements throughout the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring successful and high-quality delivery. Support continuous improvement activities within TELUS delivery teams.

In detail, your work may include:

  1. Collaborate with clients, partners, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  2. Perform requirements assessments and translate them into system specifications.
  3. Conduct gap analysis between requirements and available solutions.
  4. Perform options assessments with impact analysis of alternatives.
  5. Document end-to-end workflows and operational support processes.
  6. Define and document business, clinical, and end-user requirements.
  7. Develop effort and cost estimates for projects.
  8. Create contractual statements of work for updates and new capabilities.
  9. Support project planning and ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.
  10. Identify and address requirements gaps during delivery.
  11. Support quality assurance and validate test coverage.
  12. Develop documentation, user guides, training materials, and release notes.
  13. Oversee quality management and system validation.
  14. Maintain requirements and business process documentation.
  15. Partner with teams to develop process improvements.
  16. Contribute to roadmap planning for TELUS Health IT programs.

Qualifications :

A Professional Designation / Certification :

  • A graduate or undergraduate degree in business administration, health informatics, engineering, computer science, health management, clinical profession, or relevant experience.

Required Experience :

  • Minimum 5 years as a Business Analyst or similar role in service operations or consumer environments.
  • Experience in healthcare or insurance, especially clinical system or IT implementation.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google tools.
  • Understanding of software design, implementation, and deployment processes, including requirements gathering, privacy/security, system readiness, process improvement, issue management, training, and operational support.

Experience that would be an asset :

  • Experience with large government agencies.
  • Experience in healthcare insurance, especially provincial compensation boards.
  • Knowledge of HL7 (V2 and V3), FHIR, CDA, or other Healthcare IT standards.
