Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Services Advisor to join our team.

The primary responsibility of the Senior Business Services Advisor is to provide administrative support to the Business Banking Advisors within their division. The role also involves managing and growing an assigned portfolio of business banking members and their associated retail banking and wealth management needs. The Senior Business Services Advisor is expected to proactively seek business banking or referral opportunities that contribute to the achievement of division goals. This is a hybrid role, with 75% of time spent providing administrative support and 25% managing the portfolio. Targets are reflective of this split. This position is a development role, with the potential to move into a Senior Financial Advisor or Business Banking Advisor role after approximately 2 years, once the required skills and experience are achieved.

Typical Daily Responsibilities
  1. Administrative Support: Support Business Banking Advisors with reporting, financial analysis, collections, annual reviews, and transactional support.
  2. Portfolio Management: Manage and grow an existing portfolio, build long-term relationships, conduct annual reviews, and identify members' financial needs.
  3. Business Development: Develop sales plans, pursue new business, and maintain community contacts to generate referrals.
  4. Sales and Service Strategy: Achieve sales targets by providing ongoing advisory services and initiating referrals to product specialists.
  5. Wealth Management: Provide wealth and investment solutions as a licensed MFDA Advisor.
  6. Risk Management: Initiate collection activities for delinquent accounts and recommend actions to maximize recovery.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  1. College, Trade, or Tech School Diploma (2 years) in Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  2. Completion of internal certification program within required timeframe.
  3. MFDA License (within 6 months).
  4. At least 2 years of retail/business/commercial lending or credit experience.
  5. Sales experience preferred.
  6. Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  7. Results-oriented with business development skills.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  10. Understanding of risk management and policy adherence.
