THEROLE IN A NUTSHELL

  • Participates in a leadership capacity with the program managers, project sponsors, stakeholders, and information technology project managers to define project scope, build and execute implementation plans to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Leads business resources on project teams. Leads team meetings, produces artifacts and ensures alignment with stakeholders and the PMO.
  • Accountable for successful business-facing outcomes of projects, including ROI, process implementation and quality.
  • Co-ordinates with IT project managers to manage and communicate project status information, including regular communications updates, monitoring of project plans (e.g. tracking and reporting of project tasks, activities, documentation and time tracking), budget, ROI and organizing and facilitating stakeholder and project team meetings.
  • Identifies, manages, and mitigates implementation project risks.
  • Defines and collects metrics to determine implementation project progression and whether the deliverables produced meet ROI levels defined at the inception of the project.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and managed appropriately.
  • Builds and fosters cooperative and productive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and functional areas.
  • Develops, monitors, and communicates KPIs for in-flight projects, including PMI-standard measures such as SPI, EV, etc.
  • Participates in project portfolio reviews, including dashboard creation, and providing relevant status updates to team members and stakeholders.
  • Coaches business resources on the processes, tools and responsibilities required to deliver successful business projects.
  • Supports time tracking and resource activities by the information technology project managers and business leaders
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience facilitating or managing projects.
  • Experience in group benefits and/or related industries.
  • PMP, PgMP or other relevant certification is required.
  • Ability to influence and lead others to achieve project deliverables.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize accountabilities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong proficiency with Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
