What it’s like to be a Northbridge Senior Business Intelligence Engineer

Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence & Visualization, the Senior Business Intelligence Engineer loves developing BI end products that provide the business with safe, trusted information to understand our business performance. You will help in leading agile product streams partnering with business teams to understand their business domain and how data can empower them with easy to use business intelligence product solutions. This includes developing and adhering to standards in how we leverage and manage data assets for BI so that we achieve high reusability of data objects without needing to proliferate our data to accommodate new business intelligence solutions.

An ideal candidate will have a passion to foster a team of expert data practitioners and business experts; an analytical mindset, be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, detail oriented and have desire to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

If you are great at:

1. Design & assist in implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using MicroStrategy and Power BI
2. Responsible for ensuring appropriate planning, prioritization and overseeing the delivery of projects through coordinating project-team activities and assist members in achieving objectives as necessary
3. Lead in prototyping new or evolving builds of presentation layers for business intelligence purposes
4. Implement designs from our design team for new dashboards & reports to support analytical and enterprise decision making processes
5. Plans and executes User Acceptance Tests on behalf of business for new releases or bug fixes
6. Integrate and manage datasets from multiple sources, including data integrity check, data cleaning, data validation, and other related data handling work

If you have:

1. B. Sc Computer Science, Mathematics, Stats, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
2. 5+ years in business intelligence
3. Knowledge in business intelligence tools (i.e., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI etc.)
4. Knowledge of data management fundamentals.
5. Hands-on experience with advanced SQL/ETL (including writing and tuning SQL scripts), experience in R and/or Python, cloud technologies and databases in a largescale, complex business environment.
6. Experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into business decision/operational or advanced degree
