Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Azure Databricks, Power BI, DevOps pipelines) - Remote across Canada

Job Description : Our client in Alberta is urgently looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer.

Must Have Primary Skills :

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering)
• 3+ years of professional experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines. Azure Databricks experience preferred.
• 3+ years of designing, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions using Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder, preferably in Power BI Pro and Premium capacity.
• Experience with Cloud Platform services such as Azure.
• Experience working with DevOps pipelines, continuous integration/delivery, and automated testing (unit, functional, performance).
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile Scrum teams.
• Expert coding skills in Python, SQL, and knowledge of software engineering principles around testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Demonstrated experience using Databricks, PySpark, and Python.

Nice To Have Secondary Skills :

• Experience in dimensional data modeling and data transformation technologies such as dbt.
• Experience with cloud migrations, specifically from on-prem SQL databases and data marts to Azure Databricks.

Proven Experience In :

Responsibilities:

• Providing support services such as root-cause analysis, debugging, training, and consultation for business intelligence or reporting concerns.
• Developing data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes.
• Developing end-user reporting solutions including Power BI Dashboards, Reports, and Paginated Reports.
• Collaborating with developers, data architects, and data engineers to design and implement scalable and reliable data products on cloud platforms.
• Monitoring and maintaining the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and pipelines, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing query performance.
• Working closely with business analysts to understand requirements and design effective reporting models.

Additional Skills :

• Experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Oracle SQL (at least 3 years).
• Experience in Business Intelligence (at least 3 years).
