Job Summary:

Responsible for providing high quality data driven solutions that address key business questions. The Senior BI Developer works directly with other team members and organizational stakeholders to develop complete and insightful data driven BI solutions , compelling visualization applications, and advanced analytics. The developer is expected to be technically proficient in Power BI (Fabric) and have knowledge and practical experience in data modelling , ETL, and other aspects of a full BI technology stack. The developer is also responsible for developing rapid POCs and prototypes for numerous use cases and deploy applicable prototypes to the broader organization. The Senior BI Developer is a member of a cross-functional team comprised of analytical and technical team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design discussions for business intelligence and database solutions and drive the development of standard reports, dashboards, highly visual analytical workflows, and immersive visualization applications . Create rapid prototypes with cross-functional team members to prove out capabilities 40%

  • Participate in planning and design sessions to understand requirements and use cases for their data driven analytical needs and provide technical support for end user training and UAT when required 20%

  • Liaise with Project Manager / Solution manager (internal or external) throughout the solution development lifecycle 10%

  • Participate in tier 3 application support activities including incident management and supports the assessment and delivery of application upgrades and patches 15%

  • Ensure deliverables are within business / audit control requirements, and they adhere to appropriate technical development standards 15%

Qualifications:

Minimum Required

  • Completion of a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline - or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent

  • 6-8 years of related work experience with a background in design and development of big data and traditional business intelligence solutions .

  • 6-8 years of experience in top tier business intelligence applications, such as Power BI, Spotfire, or Microstrategy

Preferred

  • Experience in beverage alcohol, consumer packaged goods, or retail industries an asset

  • Strong in understanding DAX and python

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Effective Storytelling within dashboards

  • ITIL Foundations, an asset

  • Current project management certification from a recognized institute (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2), an asset

COMPENSATION:Budgeted Range – $89,028.00 -115, 213.00 the budgeted range takes into account several factors and qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements. Base pay is only one component of the total rewards offering at Arterra.
