Job Description:

Department Overview

Wealth Business Architecture encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle of defining and realizing the target state business capabilities, which enable TD Wealth strategic priorities. This includes how all business processes and key enablers are aligned and utilized, to deliver a seamless client and employee experience, while ensuring adherence to all regulatory and risk/control requirements. This team works in close collaboration with all Wealth Business Units (Direct Investing, Advice and Asset Management) along with key partners such as, Technology, Operations, Risk and Control, and Vendors.

Our primary focus is for the development of the long-term strategy, the successful delivery of initiatives tied to the business capabilities including the long-term sustainability.

Job Description Summary

Reporting to the AVP–Data Strategy, the Senior Business Information Management Specialist is a leader within TD Wealth Management. Works independently as a senior lead and may manage and direct activities related to analysis, design, and support of business data management solutions.

Success will be measured by the successful establishment of Wealth data management. The role is responsible for aiding the Wealth business and its journeys to transform their data management processes.

Accountabilities includes:

  • Lead or provide subject expertise to the team in defining and managing detailed process design for data management

  • Lead development or adoption of data management standards and processes by collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and implementation approaches

  • Lead on complex analysis in an evolving data management environment and gather and analyze data management requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data maps

  • Provide guidance on applying standards and best practices to ensure that the application’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible

  • Work with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications

  • Implement, maintain and enhance Enterprise Data Governance related policies, in alignment with TD's Enterprise standards

  • Provide thought leadership and insights on emerging data information management solutions or frameworks for business purposes

  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team

  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities

  • Expert knowledge of the business and respective technical environment/ tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organizational issues

  • Recognized as top level expert and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas

  • Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders and governs the requirements for own work

  • Advises on execution strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their own field or across multiple specialties

  • Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact;

  • Requires innovative thinking to develop new solutions

  • Engages stakeholders to act; serves as a source of expert advice, influences change; frames information in a broader organizational context

  • Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meets the business needs on a complex project or program

  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate Degree in a Technical Discipline (e.g. Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science)

  • 10+ years relevant experience with large program/project delivery with enterprise impact

  • 8+ years relevant experience in Data Governance, Data Management, and/or Data Quality

  • Strong skill in managing partners and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet strategic direction, business and technical requirements, budget, scalability and architectural goals with risks and impacts considered

  • Knowledge and experience of the financial services industry, banking and insurance products, corporate finance, risk management, statutory reporting practices, and regulatory compliance practices and the data that supports it

  • Knowledge and experience of data discovery, data classification, de-identification, and anonymization tools and techniques including understanding of in-house and third-party architectures

  • Ability to quickly gain understanding of the TD Data Risk, Privacy, Compliance, and Legal control functions and TD as a whole with expertise and specialized knowledge of data concepts and related technology and tools
