About the Role

Progima is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead our sales team as a Business Development Director in Ontario. We are looking to add a highly motivated deal maker and self-starter who can identify, develop, and arbitrate new business opportunities within a complex and evolving engineering, manufacturing, and product development environment, and who will lead the introduction and integration of new service offerings aligned with our strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Role

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to acquire new customers, partners, and strategic alliances.
  • Lead the management of current accounts with the engineering manager and team leads, and identify additional opportunities within active client accounts.
  • Lead the introduction of new services and technologies based on the market needs and the strategic planning of the firm.
  • Take on the development of the pipeline by outreach, following and eventually meeting with potential clients to present our comprehensive service offerings.
  • Organize and contribute to business development initiatives such as online seminars, trade shows, training sessions and content marketing.
  • Lead the writing of detailed and personalized presentations and service proposals by collaborating with our technical experts.
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction by delivering exceptional service.

Required Experience and Expertise

  • Minimum of Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development for engineering services and 10 years of industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian manufacturing market, specifically OEM, including key industry knowledge and contacts.
  • Proficiency in engaging with C-level executive clients, ability to engage in strategic business discussions with Presidents, Vice Presidents of Engineering & Operations, and General Managers
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a relevant technical field.
