Role Responsibilities
Management of Month End Close
- Oversee the month-end management reporting process, including communication of required deliverables and timelines to the Canadian business; provide guidance on the Purchase Order process, and manage the Brand Investment process to ensure accurate reporting of A&P expenses
- Prepare and upload journal entries to accurately report monthly Brand Investment spending, adhering to internal control requirements
- Maintain and manage the monthly reconciliation of applicable GL accounts
Business Partnering to Sales / Marketing
- Provide business partnering to Sales and Marketing, supporting key decision-making with analysis and insights
- Deliver financial education, training, tools, and templates to improve the teams’ business and financial acumen
- Identify opportunities to proactively add value and influence business decisions
- Prepare monthly reporting packages for Sales and Marketing and support market insights analysis
- Analyze monthly Provincial P&L performance vs. Plan and LY, highlighting key drivers by market and brand
- Support strategic projects, including innovation assessment, pricing, promotions, and market opportunities
Long Description
National Pricing Administration & Coordination
- Support pricing strategies through analytics; conduct post-mortem analyses of price changes; assist in driving revenue growth
Systems and Industry Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with third-party depletion reporting providers, ensuring data accuracy and exploring development opportunities
- Act as the primary contact with the Association of Canadian Distillers, managing data access, membership fees, and ad hoc requests
Management of the Associate Analyst (Intern)
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, training, and daily management of the intern
- Coordinate with the University of Toronto for the Co-op program and related activities
Qualifications
- University degree in Business or Finance
- At least 2 years of financial analysis experience, focusing on accounting and reporting
- Working towards or holds a professional accounting designation (CGA, CA, CMA, CPA)
- Willingness to travel within Canada up to 10%
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial data to non-financial colleagues
- Relationship management skills to build trust with stakeholders
- Results-oriented with a sense of urgency and deadline focus
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to change and identify opportunities for improvement
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with SAP systems
