About the Role

As a Business Analyst – Group Insurance, you will make an impact by translating high-level business requirements into detailed system specifications and user stories for complex insurance solutions. You will be a valued member of our Consulting team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to deliver transformation programs in the group life insurance domain.

In this Role, You Will
  • Analyze and refine business requirements, converting them into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
  • Review BRDs from business and vendors, provide feedback, and validate requirements with stakeholders.
  • Participate in JAD sessions to elicit system requirements and support system development.
  • Document functional, technical, and user interface requirements using system and data analysis.
  • Perform data mapping and transformation between upstream and downstream applications.
  • Understand and work with APIs and JSON request/response structures.
  • Apply Scaled Agile practices, including backlog management, story estimation, prioritization, and participation in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence for advanced requirement management and collaboration.
Work Model

What You Must Have to Be Considered
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically in group life insurance or group insurance.
  • Strong analytical and investigation skills to translate high-level requirements into detailed specifications.
  • Experience with data mapping, transformation, and integration between applications.
  • Understanding of APIs, JSON structures, and system logic.
  • Hands-on experience with Scaled Agile methodology, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Intermediate knowledge of group life insurance products and LOMA or similar certifications.
These Will Help You Succeed
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience integrating vendor products in group life insurance.
  • Exposure to legacy modernization and transformation programs.
Compensation

This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
