The Role

The Senior Business Analyst will need to provide responsive operational and business analysis support to the Equity Research Business line and their systems.

The incumbent is responsible for assisting in conducting analysis leading to the definition of requirements, design, testing, project coordination, and implementation processes. The successful candidate will also assist in resolving complex business problems for the Equity Research Business unit and other supported business lines. The incumbent will participate in projects for new systems or enhancements, working closely with development and infrastructure teams. They will collaborate with other technology groups and vendors, and support all users in the supported business lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive operational support, including 24/7 on-call rotation, troubleshooting existing and new functionalities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and infrastructure teams for corrective actions and manage activities to ensure satisfactory results.
  • Resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet system needs of the Equity Research Desk and customers.
  • Collaborate with business partners, including senior management, to define objectives, processes, and requirements.
  • Participate in all phases of the IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), acting as a liaison between developers and business teams.
  • Provide timely project status updates, identify/report risks early, and proactively mitigate them.
  • Manage Scrum meetings, sprint planning, and related Agile processes.
  • Assist senior management in vendor relationship management, including vendor selection, cost control, risk reduction, and service delivery.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience with application-based projects, understanding data processing and workflows.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Project Manager in technology projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile frameworks, Scrum, and Kanban.
  • Equity Research knowledge is a plus.
  • 2+ years in the Financial Industry, particularly Capital Markets.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Infrastructure, Networks, and Security.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
