Senior Business Analyst

On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Sr BA for a 12 month contract that is fully remote.

Senior Business Analyst Responsibilities

• Evaluates and documents Business Readiness requirements.
• Evaluates new and evolving business requirements, and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current processes.
• Prepares communications and makes presentations on system enhancements and/or alternatives. Works under the direction of a project manager.
• Writes, updates, and maintains Business Requirements Documentation.
• Develops documentation of business requirements and specifications for changes and enhancements to systems or products.
• Develops solutions for complex initiatives and business problems through detailed analysis, cost/benefits analysis, and feasibility studies. Prepares clear, concise reports and presentations outlining findings and recommendations.
• Supports project implementation in the capacity of Project Resource or Business Lead. Oversees or liaises in the planning and development of associated rules and procedures, documentation, and training.
• Develops detailed project plans and documentation and collaborates with subject matter experts and team members to set project direction and meet project deliverables.
• Facilitates effective communication between business stakeholders and technology resources. Translates moderately complex business/technology information into simple, clear, and accurate language to ensure understanding by technical and non-technical audiences.
• Gathers requirements by facilitating meetings, interviewing, and collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure business requirements are clear, concise, and relevant.
• Leads complex initiatives to analyze current behaviour, gather and validate requirements, and perform impact assessments.
• Coordinates the communication and implementation of solutions to impacted user areas.
• Validates proposed solution for alignment to business needs, requirements, and impacts to operations, processes, technology, vendors, partners, and clients.

Senior Business Analyst Mandatory Skills

• Degree in Business, Computer Science, Commerce, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Two years of related experience in business systems analysis across multiple business processes, conducting process analysis, documenting business requirements, including coordinating and leading related initiatives and projects.
• Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation is an asset.
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset.
• Education in project management is an asset.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of business processes and supporting systems.
• Working knowledge, skills, and abilities developing the following: Business Requirements, Business Use Cases, Business Rules and Policies, Business Vision and Architecture, Current to future state analysis, Process maps and workflows, Operational support models, User Stories, Burndown charts, Story Maps.

Senior Business Analyst Nice to Have Skills

• Experience working for government auto insurer is an asset.
• Working knowledge of the following technology is an asset: PowerBuilder, Sybase, C# .Net, Web Services, Unix (AIX), Doc 1, SSRS Reporting Services, Microfocus Cobol.

Experience in Auto Insurance is an asset:

• Vehicle Owner and registration.
• Driver Licensing.
• Experience working in a provincial crown is an asset.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• An understanding of change management is an asset.
• SAFe Certification is an asset.
