Reporting to the Manager, Business & Systems Analysis Chapter, the Senior Business & Systems Consultant will be a key member of the Retail Wealth Platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of advisor experiences and drive strategic initiatives within Sun Life's Retail Advice and Solutions (RA&S) division.

As part of the Platform team, you will possess a strong understanding of the wealth industry, specifically in the CIRO Dealer space (formerly MFDA), including regulatory, technological, and competitive trends. The Senior Business & Systems Consultant conducts need analysis, defines capabilities and features, collaborates with others for system design; and supports the team to increase productivity and reduce costs.

What will you do?

  • As part of the Retail Wealth Platform, you will collaborate with teams in Operations, Compliance and Portfolio Management to define business capabilities and technical solutions required to grow the investment dealer business.
  • Lead and manage discovery work to understand user needs and translate them into system capabilities for delivery by development squads.
  • Assess current state process and systems to determine how future changes will impact systems, processes, procedures, and clients throughout the organization.
  • Create and / or provide comments into internal and external communications and user documentation.
  • Review and provide comments on business and technical documentation.
  • Act in an advisory capacity as well as coach / mentor to Business & Systems Analysts.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 5+ years of Experience working with CIRO (formerly MFDA) licensed investment dealers with knowledge of systems such as Univeris, FundSERV and Broadridge.
  • Strong understanding of wealth product structures, client account onboarding, fee billing, model portfolios and discretionary portfolio management.
  • Familiarity with CIRO requirements related to KYC suitability, performance reporting, trade supervision and managed account oversight.
  • Experience in transformational system work, moving from legacy system to modern system.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and align the organization on decisions.
  • Experience with data & integration modelling.
  • Experience with Business case development.
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of internal and vendor partners.
  • Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
  • Canadian Securities Course through CSI (Canadian Securities Institute) is an asset.
  • Additional Assets :

  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience with quarterly / PI planning (e.g, SAFe framework)
  • Experience with data mapping, SQL, and / or working with APIs is an asset.
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile tools
