Your next challenge:

Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, you will be part of the Finance Department. You will leverage your expertise in financial modeling, strong analytical skills, and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Your role will involve:

  • Completing annual budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate requirements;
  • Managing the consolidated model for official submission to the corporate office;
  • Conducting scenario analysis and enhancing financial models like Life of Mine and Full Potential Model;
  • Overseeing financial calculations for value creation projects and acting as liaison for strategic reporting;
  • Participating in cost-saving initiatives;
  • Assisting in financial closes at month, quarter, and year-end;
  • Preparing analyses and reports for management on departmental costs;
  • Generating financial status reports, analyzing variances, and discussing results;
  • Tracking key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participating in financial planning;
  • Supporting economic justifications for capital expenditures and ensuring proper documentation;
  • Managing the Hyperion planning tool for the division;
  • Supervising the Business Analyst team, providing support and training to ensure quality deliverables;
  • Supporting the Finance Superintendent in analyzing financial results and KPIs.

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Mining Engineering, with an MBA or CFA preferred;
  • CPA designation is an asset;
  • At least 4 years of experience in financial accounting;
  • Good knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations;
  • Mining operations experience is a plus;
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Note: The official working language of our Nunavut operations is English.

Your work schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a mix of teleworking and presence at offices in Val-d’Or, Rouyn-Noranda, or Mirabel, QC. Occasional site visits may be required.
