The Global Enterprise Services (GES) is accountable for the operation of Canada's two systemically important clearing houses (CDS and CDCC) and, as a shared service organization for TMX, it also provides services that support TMX businesses in meeting their objectives. In this regard, GES provides the Firm's Technology, Information Security, Enterprise Risk Management, Integrated Operations, Project Management, Vendor management and Innovation services.
The Business Analyst draws up requirement statements and takes part in development projects as advisor in the area of business and systems use. He/she follows up change requests with users and acts as intermediary between users and implementation teams.
Key Accountabilities:
Gather and document business processes for new business initiatives and system improvements.
Update and maintain the CDCC business manual guide
Maintain documentation of system procedures, process flows, and any changes that affect the business and market participants.
Prepare end user training materials and conduct training sessions.
Identify and propose rule changes required to implement new processes or systems enhancements.
Gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional steps and processes.
Establish, implement, and evaluate industry best practices related to processes and procedures documentation.
Developing and implementing new business processes and procedures to improve client experiences and organizational efficiency.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement processes that facilitate cooperation and collaboration.
Testing and validating processes and procedures to ensure they meet business objectives and requirements.
Provide training material and support to operations team.
Identifying and managing risks and issues that may impact the success of the project.
Communicating project status and updates to stakeholders and project teams.
Continuously monitoring and analyzing business performance to identify areas for improvement.
Must Have(s):
Minimum 5 years as a business analyst
University degree in information technology and management or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial industry and solution delivery
Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
Familiar with Google office applications and/or MS office suite of products
Familiar with IT business analysis practices and SDLC methodology.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven professional judgment in managing clients and partners expectations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Dedication to agreed-to deliverables and timelines
Ability to explain complex information in simple terms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be reliable, results oriented, customer-focused and attentive to details
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
Ability to adapt in a changing environment
Nice Have(s):
Certification in business analysis is desirable.
Canadian Securities Course
Previous experience in capital markets industry or securities back office processing
Previous experience in Financial Services and/or Capital Markets Industry.
