Job summary

CGL is seeking a Senior Business Analyst in Ontario, Canada. You will lead the development of requirements, workflows, and testing for new or enhanced applications, aligning with digital standards and agile team delivery.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear business needs and practical solutions while coaching colleagues and contributing to a resilient, client-focused finance organization.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience as a business analyst in an agile environment.
  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Computer Science.
  • Business Analyst certification.
  • Excellent business and systems knowledge of applications, procedures and workflows.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with stakeholders to understand, gather, and document clear and concise business and technology requirements, processes, issues, and risks.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions using sound business judgement while consulting with all affected areas and apply solutions where appropriate.
  • Develop test strategies, planning, and providing work effort estimates while adhering to standards, methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Support design, development, and testing activities by offering SME to respond to inquiries and provide context on business needs.
  • Coach, train, and develop team members and provide timely feedback to achieve department objectives.

As the Senior Business Analyst you will be a subject matter expert and lead the development of stories (requirements), workflows and procedures, business analysis, acceptance testing, and the implementation of new or enhanced applications to ensure alignment within the program. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all requirements align with digital standards, enable agile team development, and deliver high quality results.

How you will create impact:
  • Consulting with stakeholders to understand, gather, and document clear and concise business and technology requirements, processes, issues, and risks.
  • Investigating and recommending solutions using sound business judgement while consulting with all affected areas and apply solutions where appropriate.
  • Developing test strategies, planning, and providing work effort estimates while adhering to Business Systems standards, methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Supporting technical design, development, and testing activities by offering subject matter expertise to respond to inquiries, participating in reviews and providing context regarding business needs and requirements.
  • Coaching, training, and developing team members and providing timely feedback to achieve department objectives.

  • You have five years of experience as a business analyst, working in an agile environment.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business or Computer Science.
  • You have a Business Analyst certification.
  • You have excellent business and systems knowledge and comprehension of applications, procedures, and workflows.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation considered an asset.
