Job summary

Odlum Brown Limited in Vancouver is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to partner with business stakeholders and technology teams. You will translate business objectives into actionable requirements and support delivery of strategic initiatives while ensuring regulatory alignment.

You will elicit, analyze, and document requirements, create process maps and user stories, and drive testing and UAT to quality. A 3+ year track record in financial services is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering on business and technology projects.
• Experience in investment management, wealth management, brokerage, or related financial services environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms.
• Experience with SQL Server administration and development, as well as report development using SQL Server Reporting Services, is an asset.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

What You’ll Do

The Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders and technology teams to identify business needs, analyze processes, document requirements, and support the delivery of strategic initiatives. The role is responsible for translating business objectives into actionable requirements and ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis and Requirements Management

• Elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and process reviews
• Develop clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, and process maps

• Project Management – Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee projects, balancing time, resources, and scope to achieve objectives, support stakeholders, and meet deadlines
• Requirements Gathering – Discover, identify, document, and validate business needs to inform system or vendor selection, solution development, and/or project planning
• Software Development – Design, build, deploy, and maintain software solutions to meet functional and technical requirements

Knowledge And Experience

• 3+ years of Business Analysis experience delivering on business and technology projects

• Experience with portfolio management systems, CRM platforms, trading systems, digital client onboarding, cybersecurity initiatives, or related business technology platforms
