In the role of Senior Business Analyst, you will contribute to a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, leveraging your expertise to influence the strategic direction of NAIT's technological initiatives and advance the success of our students, faculty, and industry partners.
We are seeking a committed and results-driven Business Analyst to join our team. In close collaboration with the Manager, Business Analysis Team, you will serve as a critical link between diverse business units and ITS. Your role will involve translating business objectives and key results into clear, comprehensive conceptual designs, while upholding the highest standards in project management and business analysis methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with academic and administrative departments to understand, gather, and document their system and process requirements, and map these to current objectives and key results.
- Strategic Process Optimization: Collaborate with senior leadership to review, assess, and refine existing business processes, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and driving operational efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
- System Analysis: Assess NAIT's IT systems and other platforms to identify areas of improvement, enhancement, or integration.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with business and technical teams to design solutions that meet NAIT's needs, ensuring usability, efficiency, and scalability.
- Product Ownership & Agile Collaboration: Act as a Product Owner in agile delivery teams, translating stakeholder needs into prioritized backlogs, defining user stories, and ensuring continuous alignment between business goals and technical implementation throughout the development lifecycle.
- Organizational Change Management: Assess change impacts, facilitate smooth transitions with training, and ensure changes align with organizational goals.
- Reporting and Analytics : Utilize data analysis tools to generate reports and insights to assist with decision-making processes and understanding student trends.
- Coaching : Share knowledge with, and provide coaching and mentoring to, less experienced business analysts.
Skills & Abilities:- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with NAIT leaders to align process improvements with institutional strategy.
- Strong strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess and optimize business processes to support organizational goals.
- Skilled at facilitating high-level discussions and translating strategic objectives into actionable initiatives.
- Adept at identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and leading cross-functional change efforts.
- Ability to understand complex problems, extract essential details, and develop practical solutions.
- Proficient with analysis and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of technology system interfaces, data integration, networks, and operating systems.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, ERP systems like Workday, or other enterprise platforms is an asset.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with business and technical teams on multiple concurrent activities.
Qualifications:Need to Have
- Degree or diploma in Business, IT, or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a business analyst.
- Must be able to attend work in person at NAIT's Main Campus in Edmonton when required.

Nice to Have
- Experience in a post-secondary educational institution.
- Business Analyst certification (CCBA or CBAP).
- Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) or equivalent.

Remuneration: $84,655.22 to $112,153.60 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
