Job description

Senior Building Science Engineer / Project Manager

Location: GTA - Ontario - REMOTE / Hybrid

Salary: $90K - $105K + Benefits

About the Company

Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering firm with offices across the country. They specialize in the inspection and evaluation of buildings, including rehabilitation design engineering, building envelope investigations, reserve fund studies, building condition assessments, performance audits, structural assessments, and drawing and document management services/software.

The Role

As a Project Manager at an advanced intermediate or senior level, you will oversee project phases from design through construction documents and services. Responsibilities include project coordination, site visits, managing project financials, client relationships, team communication, liaising with municipal authorities, and reviewing work for quality control. You will ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, ultimately overseeing the successful execution of building science and envelope projects in collaboration with other teams and across sectors.

What’s Required

1. Be a registered Building Science Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario.
2. Possess at least 10 years of industry experience, with 4+ years in project management.
3. Experience in strategic development, business development, and client management.
4. Experience with feasibility studies, building condition assessments (BAS), reserve fund studies, report writing, and contractor liaison.
5. Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, flexibility, and resourcefulness.
6. Ability to mentor and manage junior staff.
7. Strong understanding of project accounting to monitor performance and forecast revenue.
8. Ability to be physically located in Ontario, preferably near Burlington or downtown Toronto.
9. Valid Driver’s License and vehicle, with willingness to travel to sites.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Availability to work at least one day in-office, with remote work options and regular site visits across the GTA.
