Job summary

Colonial Group seeks a Building Science Engineer to improve the performance of existing buildings across the Greater Montreal Area. You will conduct envelope assessments, diagnostic investigations, and rehabilitation design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions.

The role requires five years of relevant experience and a P.Eng. designation with OIQ membership, plus involvement in performance testing and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in building science or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Demonstrated experience with building envelope systems, rehabilitation projects, technical investigations, and building pathology assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct building envelope assessments and BCAs.
• Perform façade and parking structure inspections per Quebec Bill 122.
• Diagnose causes of deterioration including water infiltration, mold, and cracks.
• Contribute to rehab design and project documentation for envelope systems.
• Support regulatory compliance and optional LEED/Passive House certifications.
