Job summary

Entuitive Corporation in Calgary is seeking a Senior Building Envelope Specialist to lead building envelope design and assessment for new and existing buildings. Based in our Calgary office, you will manage complex projects and contribute to innovative solutions that shape the built environment.

You will mentor teams, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure budgets and schedules are met. The role requires 8+ years in building envelope consulting, a relevant degree, and professional registration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years’ work experience in building envelope consulting.
• Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering or architecture or equivalent training.
• Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility is considered an asset.
• Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget.
• Willingness to work at heights (ladders and swing stages).
• Interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; passport for travel is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Execute building envelope projects for new and existing buildings, including design and performance.
• Provide technical guidance as Project Principal leading small to large projects.
• Manage budgets through cost control, scheduling and resourcing.
• Research new products and systems for project portfolios.
• Assist with design, drawings and specification reviews for new construction.
• Perform CAE analysis of building envelope details and performance.
• Conduct forensic inspections and write field reports.
• Prepare tender specifications, drawings and sketches.
• Perform field reviews and contract administration duties.

Entuitive is looking for a Senior Building Envelope Specialist, based in our Calgary office that will focus on both new construction and existing buildings projects. What will you do?

• Execution of projects within the realm of building envelope consulting such as the design and performance of building envelope systems for new buildings, and existing building repair/restoration/renewal, condition and forensic assessment.


• Provide technical expertise and guidance as a Project Principal leading small to large scale projects through effective management, team leadership, coordination, and participation in the delivery of projects thus ensuring a high level of service.


• Ensure the effective management of project budgets through cost control methods, scheduling and resourcing in order to meet project deliverables.


• Assist with research of new products and systems as needed for servicing your portfolio of projects.


• Design assistance, drawing and specification review for new construction projects.


• Computer aided analysis of building envelope details and performance.


• Forensic inspections of existing buildings to diagnose failures or determine the condition of various building envelope systems. Writing reports related to field work and research.


• Assisting with the preparation of tender specifications, drawings, and sketches.


• Field review and other contract administrative duties as required.

What do you need to succeed?

• Minimum 8 years’ work experience in building envelope consulting.


• Bachelor’s degree in building science, engineering or architecture; or equivalent training.


• Registration as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. or eligibility for registration is considered an asset


• Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation is considered an asset.

• Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.

Compensation, Benefits, & Total Rewards

• Competitive base salary:$95,000 - $125,000 (aligned with experience, qualifications, and education)
