What you will be doing:
You will be leading teams, executing project work, providing technical guidance and mentorship, completing peer reviews and expanding the presence of our Buildings team across Western Canada. We look forward to you making the following valuable contributions:
Assisting the Manager of the Buildings discipline in implementing strategic business development plans, contributing insights and helping to monitor the client pipeline
Maintaining client relationships, providing input on evolving client needs and contributing to the retention efforts
Leading the coordination and preparation of proposals, providing key input on project resourcing and skill requirements
Ensuring that project resourcing is aligned with strategic goals, facilitating effective cross-office collaboration and resource allocation
Overseeing project documentation standards within the team, upholding consistency and accuracy while respecting regional differences
Leading cost estimation efforts, and take responsibility for managing scope changes in projects
Leading projects, directing quality delivery within budget and timeline constraints, and providing support on larger projects as needed
Completing peer reviews per Professional association and companyPPMP requirements
Providing day-to-day leadership and support to our people, taking care that they are motivated and aligned with organizational goals
Actively mentoring staff by providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
Conducting regular check-ins with team members to monitor performance, provide feedback, and support their professional development
Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, aiming at smooth integration for all team members.
Fostering a positive work environment that emphasizes work-life balance, team cohesion, and ongoing improvement
What you must have:
Your current and past projects being worked on including scope and role
Degree in civil or other relevant engineering discipline, building or architectural science as well as a P.Eng, P.L.(Eng), or P.Tech. (Eng.) designation. A combination of education and work experience will be considered.
10+ years related professional experience in the building enclosure environment
Experience managing and leading a team
Technical knowledge of building codes, building enclosure design, building science, and Canadian construction practices
Experience preparing design packages including drawings, specifications and contract documents and acting as Prime Consultant on behalf of our clients
Skill in building condition assessments and report writing
A Valid Driver’s License and a reliable means of transportation/vehicle is required.
Bonus consideration for:
Proficiency in Revit and or AutoCAD
Experience with business development, proposal writing, winning work
Experience in building science or energy modelling software
External industry organization involvement and/or condo board experience
