Job summary

Egis Canada, a leading Canadian infrastructure firm, seeks a Senior CAD Structural Designer to support bridge and transportation projects in Ottawa, ON. The role operates in a hybrid model and requires delivering detailed drafting and BIM coordination within multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years' CAD drafting experience in civil/structural projects and strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D or Revit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of CAD drafting experience in civil/structural projects.
• Experience with bridge or transportation structure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D or Revit.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and structural design principles.
• Ability to manage drawing production workflows and revision control.
• Collaborates effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge structures using CAD and BIM tools.
• Develop general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing and construction documentation.
• Interpret sketches, markups and inputs to produce accurate drafting outputs.
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards, QA/QC procedures and client requirements.
• Maintain revision control and document tracking for all deliverables.
• Coordinate with engineers and distributed teams for model integration in BIM.
• Support design coordination meetings and provide drafting input for structural design execution.
