Job summary

Egis Canada seeks a Senior CAD Structural Designer to support bridge and transportation projects in Ottawa, ON. This senior role works in a hybrid model with multidisciplinary teams to deliver detailed drafting and BIM coordination.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of CAD drafting experience in civil, structural, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in bridge or transportation structure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or Revit.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and structural design principles.
• Experience with construction documentation, reinforcement detailing, and drafting standards.
• Ability to manage drawing production workflows, revision control, and documentation accuracy.
• Effective collaboration and communication with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for bridge structures using CAD and BIM tools.
• Develop general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and construction documentation.
• Interpret engineering sketches, design mark-ups, and inputs to produce drafting outputs.
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards and QA/QC procedures.
• Maintain drawing revision control, document tracking, and version management.
• Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams for design coordination in BIM environments.
• Support quantity take-offs and contribute to project delivery materials.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and provide drafting input.
• Provide drafting support for bridge transportation projects aligned with client/regional standards.
• Coordinate with distributed design teams across Ontario to ensure consistency.

The Senior CAD Structural Designer is a senior-level technical role supporting bridge and structural infrastructure projects in Ottawa, ON, Canada . This role contributes across design development and documentation phases, including preparation of general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, and BIM coordination for bridge projects. Responsibilities include translating engineering concepts into accurate technical drawings while maintaining compliance with drafting standards, quality control procedures, and client specifications within Ontario's transportation infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of CAD drafting experience within civil or structural disciplines, with exposure to bridge projects. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is expected, alongside the ability to work within coordinated design teams and manage drawing deliverables under structured supervision.

Required

Assets

• Experience working on Ontario transportation infrastructure projects (e.g., bridges, highways).
