Job summary

University of British Columbia Building Operations seeks a skilled Bricklayer for maintenance, repair and new construction across campus buildings. The Bricklayer applies brick, tile, stone and concrete techniques to support structural and ornamental work.

Qualified candidates hold a journeyperson bricklayer certification and a valid BC Driver’s Licence, with a minimum of five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• A trade certification to a journeyperson level as a Bricklayer.
• Valid BC Driver's Licence.
• Minimum five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Requests and obtains materials and equipment required for the work assigned.
• Performs repair work and undertakes new construction on brick, stone, concrete and tile.
• Prepares estimates and produces inspection reports as required.
• Performs emergency call-outs as required.
• Monitors safety practices and ensures the workplace is safe.
