Job Details

Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our fast-growing team and manage our day-to-day financial operations. They are self-motivated while also being able to work independently, a team player with a positive attitude that learns quickly. This position reports to the CEO and requires a strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.

As Senior Bookkeeper, you will work closely with the leadership team to maintain the company’s financial health and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. From maintaining accurate financial records to preparing financial statements, this role requires a high level of expertise in bookkeeping as well as strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  2. Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile monthly bank statements and ensure consistency with internal records.
  3. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  4. Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processing, including tax deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related tasks.
  5. Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxes, including GST, income tax, and payroll taxes.
  6. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts.
  7. Accounts Receivable Management: Oversee invoicing, monitor outstanding accounts, and ensure the collection of payments.
  8. Audit Support: Provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
  9. Accounting Systems Management: Ensure proper functioning of accounting software and systems, including data entry and system updates.
  10. Financial Analysis: Provide insights and analysis to the leadership team to assist in strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
  1. A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of Bookkeeping or Accounting experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Expert in setup and utilization of accounting software such as QuickBooks.
  5. Highly proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and the overall MS Suite.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
