The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for growth in their career with the ability and interest to mentor our junior staff. If you have experience working directly with clients on complex bookkeeping engagements or experience at the assistant controller level, we want to meet you!

About the Gig
  1. Responsible for directing a team to prepare a client's monthly accounting (bookkeeping, financial reports, government remittances, payroll etc.)
  2. Work with our accountants to prepare a client's year-end financial statements and reporting
  3. Meet with clients, assist clients with the set-up of their books, and provide software training
  4. Mentor and develop the staff reporting to you
  5. Permanent, full-time position
  6. Paid overtime will be required on evenings and some weekends during busy season
  7. Role can be structured as fully in office, hybrid, or fully remote
About You
  1. A minimum of 3 years experience in full cycle bookkeeping including posting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll and has experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
  2. Experience in Public Accounting an asset
  3. High level of Payroll experience an asset
  4. Tech savvy with the ability to design new processes and workflows for our clients
  5. A familiarity with and experience using most standard bookkeeping programs including Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online, Sage 50, Xero and other cloud accounting tools (Certifications are an asset)
  6. A focus on building meaningful relationships with both clients and RLB team members
  7. A proven ability to identify issues and problem solve to confidently advise our clients on sales tax, payroll and complex transactions
  8. Carries a high standard of integrity with exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  9. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple clients and deadlines
  10. CPB certification is an asset
