We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial for the financial health of our organization and requires proficiency in various accounting software. You will be reporting to the Office Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems (QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Sage 50)
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
- Manage payroll operations and processing
- Work with the clients to collect the necessary records and information.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms,and other government documents
- Prepare monthly and quarterly GST/PST returns
- Prepare T1 Income Taxes, T2 would be an asset
- Accounts Payable and Receivable - Track invoices, payments and overdue accounts while maintaining strong vendor and client relationships
- Obtain past information the CRA
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant bookkeeping experience preferably in a small to mid-size public accounting firm
- Proficient in T1 and T2 preparations
- CRA Online expertise and CRA negotiation experience is an asset
- A strong knowledge of GAAP, CRA, ASPE, and Tax Act of Canada, and bookkeeping principles & practices
- Knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Proficient with bookkeeping software – QuickBooks (both desktop and online) and Sage 50
- CaseWare, Profile (T1 and T2) would be an asset
- Proficient with MS Office, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work within engagement budgets and deadlines
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, Some overtime may be required
Expected hours: 40 per week
Pay: Will depend on experience
