ABOUT SPECIALIZED

JOB SUMMARY

The Bicycle Mechanic is the front line and point person for our brand to the rider, encouraging successful and profitable retail by taking their technical expertise to the next level as a driver of outstanding in-store brand experiences. The Bicycle Mechanic works directly with riders, both present and remote, to identify and locate the goods, services, and experiences needed to provide solutions quickly and smoothly, helping them ride longer and better. Bicycle Mechanics collaborate hands-on with staff and local riders as hosts, mentors, brand advocates, and technical service experts. The Bicycle Mechanic provides exceptional rider service, enhances rider satisfaction, and aids in meeting sales and profitability goals.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Connecting with riders, asking qualifying questions, listening to their needs, and offering options and advice from a pre-set service menu or tune-ups and à la carte services.
• Speaking authoritatively on technical matters related to bicycles; being the expert.
• Assisting customers enthusiastically and courteously; providing "wow" customer service.
• Properly documenting all service work, setting and exceeding rider expectations, and scheduling repairs appropriately.
• Advising and assisting customers with product and service selections without bias.
• Developing and maintaining knowledge of all merchandise to effectively assist customers, staying current with new product lines.
• Assisting with bike sales through technical consulting and other bike floor duties as needed.
• Delivering best-in-class rider service to ensure ongoing service and high rider satisfaction.
• Maintaining cleanliness standards at store opening, throughout the day, and at close, including light janitorial duties.
• Proficiency in Lightspeed point-of-sale systems and store operational websites.
• Exhibiting regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

• Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with bike mechanic work.
• Bike shop or bike mechanic experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with riders and team members.
• Ability to work as required, including weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods; occasionally walk, kneel, or reach.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. or more, using proper lifting techniques.
