This Role:
Our client is looking for a Senior BI Developer to join the data and analytics team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data modeling, visualization, and business insight delivery. You will play a key role in transforming raw data into actionable intelligence through effective use of tools like Looker, dbt, and Snowflake.

The client is currently migrating from Tableau to Looker, they need a senior developer who can play a key role in the migration of the data and dashboards for their data analysts.


You will:
•Lead the migration from Tableau to Looker, ensuring business continuity and stakeholder adoption through thoughtful dashboard redesign and stakeholder training.
•Design, develop, and maintain scalable LookML models that align with business definitions and support robust, performant dashboards.
•Translate existing Tableau dashboards and business logic into Looker equivalents, improving consistency, usability, and maintainability.
•Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to gather requirements and implement BI solutions that drive strategic decision-making.
•Use dbt to model and transform data in Snowflake, ensuring high-quality, well-documented datasets.
•Promote best practices in BI design, semantic modeling, and visualization across the team.
•Ensure data accuracy and trust through rigorous testing, documentation, and QA processes.
•Provide support and training to internal users as they transition from Tableau to Looker.

Must Have Skills:

•Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•5+ years of experience in BI development, analytics engineering, or data visualization roles.
•Hands-on experience with both Tableau and Looker, including deep familiarity with LookML.
•Proven success leading or supporting a Tableau-to-Looker migration or similar BI platform transition.
•Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern data warehouses, preferably Snowflake.
•Proficiency with dbt for data transformation and analytics engineering workflows.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
