Job description

Hybrid: 3 days per week (Anchor days: Tuesday and Thursday; days may vary based on project needs).

Contract Duration: 6 months, with a possibility of extension for an additional 12 months based on performance and business needs.

Business group: GRM - Transformation Management Office.

Project: Risk Modelling Project, involving the design, validation, and deployment of new capital risk models on a cloud infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Perform financial management activities such as project budget forecasting and payment processing, adhering to bank guidelines, covering components including international and Canadian project teams. Create financial Project Change Requests (PCRs) to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  2. Update financial information for Executive Steering Committee documents. Manage the SharePoint for Collection Solutions. Support countries/regions in financial management of their budgets, fostering strong partnerships.
  3. Collaborate with IT management, security advisory, and operational Risk teams globally to ensure effective execution of mandated assessments.
  4. Develop and execute communication strategies to manage vulnerabilities, control gaps, and issues, including their remediation.
  5. Identify opportunities and gaps within internal processes to develop strategies for improvement and maturity, covering execution, operations, reporting, and tracking.
  6. Ensure adherence to process flows that require development, infrastructure, and business teams to implement controls mitigating risks.
  7. Manage scheduling, oversight, and delivery of project milestones and stakeholder communications.
  8. Support the Delivery/Project Manager to ensure project team representation and maintain project momentum amidst conflicting priorities. Handle multiple projects depending on complexity.
  9. Document and cost project activities using Microsoft Project, defining development activities in detail (not exceeding 10 workday increments or less than 4 hours). Communicate project status regularly, complete reports, and escalate issues as needed.
  10. Support the Delivery Team by maintaining project files, RAID logs, documentation, approvals, spreadsheets, meeting minutes, status reports, third-party contracts, and correspondence.

Must Haves:

  1. 5+ years of PCO experience in financial institutions managing project financials.
  2. 2+ years of recent experience with a top 5 Canadian bank.
  3. 2+ years of recent experience using Clarity (CA-PPM).
  4. 4+ years of experience with MS Project.
  5. Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel.

Nice to Have:

  1. Bank experience preferred.
  2. PMP certification is advantageous.
  3. Previous experience with risk regulatory projects.

Education: Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

Best vs. Average Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have extensive PCO experience, prior banking experience, and strong project financial management skills.
