Job summary

Coveo is hiring a Senior II Backend Developer to join the R&D Backend Foundation team in Montreal. You will build foundational tools and patterns used across microservices, and operate a core internet-facing API service. You will mentor teams, collaborate with cloud infrastructure, and drive reliability and scalability across Coveo Platform.

Expect to own development lifecycle, contribute to golden paths, and shape developer experience in a highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of backend experience in cloud environments (Java / Spring Boot preferred).
Experience designing reusable libraries or tooling for large-scale systems.
Strong collaboration, mentoring, and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

Own and evolve reference libraries, tools, and patterns used by microservices.
Develop and operate the internet-facing API entry points.
Provide guidance on backend and platform challenges to engineering teams.
Collaborate with development and cloud infra teams to enhance Coveo Platform and developer experience.
Monitor health, performance, and risks to improve reliability and scalability.
Own the development lifecycle from design to production deployment.
Expand golden paths and platform capabilities for AI-assisted development.
