As a backend engineer, you will design, build, and operate MaintainX’s public REST APIs, improve CI/CD pipelines, and help scale the platform for enterprise use. You will collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to deliver robust

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend systems, APIs, or platform products.
• Experience with service-oriented backend development and one of TypeScript, Go, or C#.
• Strong relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL) including design and optimization.
• Solid distributed systems fundamentals: reliability, scalability, and failure modes.
• Experience shipping production-grade APIs with focus on developer experience.
• Strong testing mindset and hands-on CI/CD experience.
• Collaborative, cross-functional to build scalable product solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate MaintainX’s public REST APIs with emphasis on scalability and DX.
• Implement platform standards: auth, rate limiting, versioning, filtering, pagination.
• Create batch and bulk API operations for enterprise data migrations.
• Decouple REST from monoliths and ensure contract testing for GraphQL changes.
• Build scaffolding and reusable libraries to speed connectors/integrations.
• Improve CI/CD, release automation, and quality gates.
• Produce developer docs and reference implementations.
• Contribute to integrations marketplace and onboarding flows.
• Own production services including monitoring, on-call, and incident response.
• Drive performance tuning using SLIs/SLOs and metrics.
