Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Backend .NET/GCP Engineer to join our team remotely in Canada. You will lead a project team, design within a defined architecture, and deliver complex backend components using C#/.NET and GCP.

The role emphasizes mentoring, code quality, and strong collaboration with clients and stakeholders. You will work across cloud-native services, modern .NET stacks, and front-end integrations while driving best practices and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience developing in C#.
• 4+ years of experience with .NET technologies including Web API, ASP.NET MVC, Blazor, or MAUI.
• 4+ years of experience with Azure including Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Identity, AD, AKS, AzDO, APIM.
• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, jQuery, NodeJS or related front-end tech.
• 4+ years of experience with unit testing.
• 3+ years of experience with GCP and cloud-native services.
• 2+ years of experience creating hosting and deployment environments from scratch; containers and virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 3-person client team and perform performance reviews.
• Design independently within defined architecture and contribute to architecture input.
• Review code for quality, standards, and best practices.
• Act as full-stack developer across new and legacy architectures.
• Mentor developers and interview junior/mid-level candidates.
• Define technical approach and lead implementation with the team.
• Establish CI, SCM integration, and build processes.

Once You Are Here, You Will:

• Manage a 3-person client team
• Perform written performance reviews for team
• Hold regular one-on-ones with team members
• Design independently within a defined architecture
• Provide input to the architecture
• Understand different architectural views (conceptual, logical, physical, and deployment)
• Review code assuring Definition of Done, coding standards, and good design principles are met
• Operate as a "full-stack" developer with expertise in new and legacy architecture styles
• Develop talent at all levels of developer
• Set an example of a professional developer
• Coach and teach usage of Design Patterns, SOLID principles, and Architectural Patterns
• Establish development environment setup for team from scratch
• Create new hosting and deployment environments from scratch, or work with engineering in their creation
• Establish new Continuous Integration, integrate with SCM, and set up builds
• Guides the team in developing estimates
• Communicate with the client on new features and scope change
• Define technical approach, lead team in implementing it
• Design features independently
• Deliver complex components
• Define and manage tools and processes for team
• Mentor team on methodology use
• Interview junior and mid-level candidates for the team
• Proactively raise and solve issues with clients

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing in C#
• 4+ years of experience working with .NET technologies including at least one of the following: Web API, ASP.NET MVC, Blazor, or MAUI
• 4+ years of experience working with Azure including at least one of these technologies: Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Identity, AD, AKS, AzDO, and APIM
• 4+ years of experience working with JavaScript, jQuery, NodeJS and/or other related front-end web technologies
• 4+ years of experience with unit testing
• 3+ years of experience working in software and on GCP technologies and cloud native services.
• 2+ years of experience with GCP Cloud Run, designing & scheduling & executing batch jobs.
• 1+ years of experience in creating new hosting and deployment environments from scratch, working knowledge of containers and virtualization

Preferred Qualifications:

• GCP Solutions Certification, management of Cloud environment Understanding of IT/ workflows in large enterprises
• Highly proficient implementing and consuming SOAP or REST services
• Advanced debugging and troubleshooting tools and techniques
• Expert database programming skills
• Expertise in Object-Oriented Design and Development (SOLID principles)
• In-Depth understanding of Server operating systems and Cloud hosting models, and strong ability to establish new Continuous Integration, integrate with SCM, and setup builds
• Strong experience with the Agile methodology and the SCRUM process
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Prior Team Leadership Experience Strongly Preferred

Master’s degree in technical discipline desired

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for Canada-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is $86,488-$125,180 CAD. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all Canada locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
