Job summary

Rogers Communications in Brampton, ON is seeking a Server Side Developer to design and implement backend services, APIs and system interfaces for next-generation products. You will work on high-scale, high-visibility projects and ensure architectural standards are followed.

You will collaborate with IT Platform Management, business analysts and cross-functional teams, using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Kafka, and modern tooling to deliver reliable, scalable solutions on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent education.
• 4-6 years of experience with Java/J2EE, REST/SOAP Web services, Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, Postgres) and NoSQL.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes/Play-Akka, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Azure, Jenkins, Nginx, Unix.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Atlassian tooling.
• Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, PagerDuty).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for server-side development of next generation products and services, building services, interfaces, and APIs.
• Collaborate with IT Platform Management and business stakeholders to define requirements and technical strategies.
• Design, develop, and perform unit and integration testing; participate in code reviews.
• Coordinate design requirements, tests, and release documentation; provide application support.
