Job summary

Trackunit, based in London, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Backend Software Developer to join a 200+ strong engineering team. You will build and evolve backend services, APIs, and data pipelines for a SaaS IoT platform used by thousands daily.

We offer hybrid work, with regular presence at the London hub. You will collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and drive architectural decisions to scale the platform while adopting AI-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs.
• Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop, launch, and improve backend features solving real customer problems with multiple deployments daily.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineers to solve challenges.
• Own core features, platform improvements, and new product launches.
• Scale backend platform and architecture to meet growing needs.
• Participate in technical design and architecture discussions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor other backend developers and share knowledge.
• Showcase work through demos and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Stay updated on backend trends and proactively improve stack and processes.
