Job summary

Fullscript is hiring a senior IAM backend engineer in Canada. You will collaborate with a focused development pod to build and maintain IAM capabilities, focusing on authentication, authorization, and security across services.

You’ll contribute to a scalable backend stack using Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo, while partnering with product, security, and legal teams to ensure data integrity and compliant access controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience with authentication protocols, SSO (SAML, OAuth), RBAC, and MFA.
• Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and Apollo.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your pod — a small, focused team of developers — to build and maintain IAM capabilities
• Contribute to the backend codebase with an eye toward reliability, scalability, and security
• Participate in technical design discussions and help break down projects into clear, actionable tasks
• Identify and suggest improvements to authentication and authorization flows
• Help support maintenance and uptime of IAM systems, including production issue resolution
• Work with product, security, and legal stakeholders to ensure data and access integrity
• Stay informed on evolving security practices, frameworks, and technologies

What you’ll do:
