Job summary

Q1 Technologies, Inc. is seeking a senior SQL Server and Azure DBA to administer and optimize databases across on‑premises and Azure environments.

You will lead performance diagnostics, tuning, and capacity planning while maintaining high‑availability, disaster recovery, and secure access controls. The role requires extensive experience with Always On, replication, backups, and database migrations, plus automation skills using PowerShell, T‑SQL, and IaC practices.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of relevant database administration experience.
• Strong MSSQL and Azure DBA expertise.
• Deep knowledge of performance tuning and capacity management.
• Experience with Always On, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery.
• Automation skills with PowerShell, T‑SQL, Azure CLI, and IaC practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support SQL Server across on‑premises and Azure offerings.
• Lead performance diagnostics and tuning using Query Store, execution plans, and DMVs.
• Implement and optimize high availability, disaster recovery, and backup/restore strategies.
• Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, patching, and cloud adoption with minimal disruption.
• Own incident response, root‑cause analysis, and stakeholder communications.
