Job summary

Centraprise, Corp. seeks a Senior, hands-on Azure Platform Engineer to own and troubleshoot a data-platform across Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.

You will mentor junior engineers within the customer squad and serve as the technical bridge to the senior architect. The role requires independent troubleshooting across networking, storage, access provisioning, and disaster recovery, with a focus on platform availability and reliable deployments for Data Engineers and

Job description

The customer is looking for a Senior, hands‐on Azure Platform Engineer with strong platform expertise across Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Terraform, GitHub Actions, networking, access management, and platform troubleshooting.

The candidate should be capable of operating independently, troubleshooting complex platform issues, and guiding junior members within the customer squad, effectively bridging the technical gap between the customer's senior architect and junior engineers.

2. Mandatory Technical Skills

Candidates should demonstrate strong hands‑on experience in:

• Terraform, including modules and deployment of Azure resources
• GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI/CD and automated deployments
• Azure Databricks (ADB), including clusters, workflows, deployments and platform troubleshooting
• Azure Data Factory (ADF), including pipelines and Linked Services
• Deployment/provisioning of Storage Accounts, ADF and ADB
• Azure networking and connectivity troubleshooting
• Access provisioning, permissions and authorization‑related troubleshooting
• Disaster Recovery, particularly scenarios involving Azure Databricks or other core platform services

3. Troubleshooting Capability Expected

The candidate should be able to explain how they would diagnose and resolve real platform issues, for example:

• Connectivity failures between Azure Storage Accounts and Azure Data Factory
• Identifying missing or failing network/security rules
• Access and permission‑related problems
• Recovery approach when Azure Databricks or other critical platform components become unavailable

The expectation is not simply to identify an issue, but to explain the troubleshooting approach, identify the root cause, and describe how the issue was resolved.

4. Role Boundaries – What the Customer Is NOT Looking For

This is not a traditional Infrastructure Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position.

Experience primarily around the following is not sufficient for this requirement:

• VM creation/administration
• VM backup and maintenance
• General infrastructure management without strong Azure data-platform experience
• The Platform Engineer will primarily support the environment used by Data Engineers and Power BI teams, particularly across Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Storage and associated Azure services.
