About the role

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our medical device products. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your work will directly impact patient safety and contribute to life-changing solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, fixturing and/or automation.
• Perform engineering, functional and performance testing of electrical/electro-mechanical components, subsystems, and complete systems.
• Conduct electrical safety and EMC testing and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Monitor and analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) input to the engineering print package.
• Work with a cross-functional team.
• When required, provides work direction to technicians and may train test personnel when required as part of a validation.
• Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
• Work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines and communicate in a timely manner.
• Other duties as required.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years of relevant experience relating to test automation and fixture design
• Experience with automation in LabVIEW.
• Understands engineering and problem-solving principles, concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as fundamentals of change management and test validation.
• Develops creative solutions and collaboratively draws ideas from cross functional teams. Advocates for their ideas with passion while listening to and considering the ideas of the team.
• Takes initiative to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize them, communicate them to the appropriate levels and sees them through to completion.

• Effectuer des essais techniques, fonctionnels et de rendement sur des composants électriques/électromécaniques, des sous-systèmes et des systèmes complets.
• Effectuer des essais de sécurité électrique et de compatibilité électromagnétique et veiller au respect des normes et de la réglementation applicables.
• Contrôler et analyser les résultats des essais, produire des rapports détaillés et formuler des recommandations en matière d’amélioration.
• Fournir des informations sur la méthodologie de fabrication (DFM) et la méthodologie d’essai (DFT) pour le dossier des documents techniques.
• Travailler avec une équipe interfonctionnelle.
• Le cas échéant, diriger le travail de techniciens et former le personnel chargé des essais, si nécessaire, dans le cadre d’une validation.
• Concevoir, développer, déboguer, modifier et tester des circuits et des systèmes électriques en utilisant les outils, les techniques d’analyse et les technologies les plus récents.

Compétences requises:

• Baccalauréat en génie électrique (ou discipline connexe).
• Plus de 5années d’expérience pertinente dans le domaine de l’automatisation des essais et de la conception de dispositifs d’essai.

• Expérience en automatisation avec LabVIEW.

• Compréhension des principes, des concepts, des outils et des techniques d’ingénierie et de résolution de problèmes ainsi que des principes fondamentaux de la gestion du changement et de la validation des essais.

• Élaboration de solutions créatives et collaboration avec des équipes d’autres disciplines. Capacité à défendre ses idées avec passion tout en écoutant les idées de l’équipe et en en tenant compte.

• Capacité à prendre l’initiative d’identifier les possibilités d’amélioration, de les classer par ordre de priorité, de les communiquer aux échelons appropriés et de les mener à bien.
