Purpose

As the third line of defense, Internal Audit provides independent assurance over the Bank’s internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. The Senior Audit Manager leads internal audit activities for the Credit Risk Audit Group, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures. This role requires a dynamic, innovative, and trusted advisor who uses data to deliver assurance and insights to safeguard the Bank and its customers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end audits related to credit risk management across various banking units.
  • Develop understanding of credit risk processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve internal controls.
  • Act as Officer in Charge (OIC) or Audit Principal (AP) for audits based on complexity.
  • Plan, execute, and report on audit projects, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Identify root causes of issues and communicate findings effectively to management.
  • Support ongoing monitoring of industry, regulatory, and systemic risks.
  • Foster a client-focused culture and ensure adherence to ethical standards and policies.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business or related field; professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CIA) preferred; MBA is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, especially in credit risk and regulatory environments.
  • Experience with data analytics, agile audit techniques, and risk-based auditing.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams effectively.
  • Knowledge of OSFI regulations, global banking, and credit risk practices; Spanish language skills are a plus.
